C.G. Jangle Compressor

Welcome to

the Jangle

Schematic parameters

What do the knobs actually do?

Sustain

VR1

The main driver for the compression engine, pushing your signal into a feedback sidechain detector and a vintage-voiced OTA gain cell. Low settings give transparent, smooth leveling that glues your picking together; crank it for that tactile vintage "squash" and endless, singing sustain.

Level

VR2

Sets the final output volume—plenty of clean makeup gain to match your bypassed signal, or use it as a clean boost to push a virtual tube amp into rich, natural breakup.

Sparkle Mix

VR3

Controls the dry/wet mix of the signature Sparkle circuit. At zero the pedal is a pristine standalone compressor; roll it up to weave in a wide, double-tracked unison shimmer—from tight rhythm pocket to dream-pop haze.

Mode

SW1

A three-way voicing switch. Normal is a balanced, full-frequency response with warm lows; Bright lifts the top-end for open, airy clarity; Jangle—the sweet spot—cuts 300 Hz of low-end mud and adds a presence peak at 1.8 kHz to cut right through the mix.
