Valot Tape Echo is our homage to a Finnish guitar hero whose warm, cascading echo sound has had guitarists up here chasing it for decades. It follows his chain: a Cable Load control that softens and fattens the dry signal, the Echo Orbit tape echo, and a Ross-style compressor at the end that glues it all together.

The echo is soft and warm, with natural wow and flutter. But the biggest part of his sound was always his hands, his touch and phrasing, and no plugin can model that. Valot gives you the echo. The rest is up to you.

Under the hood, Valot Tape Echo is a classic algorithmic emulation rather than a component-level circuit simulation like our drive, fuzz, and amp plugins. A tape echo lives in movement and feel more than in any single clippable circuit, so we modeled its wow and flutter, head spacing, saturation, and repeats directly.
